Location San Remo is not on the Strip but is as near as damn it! Right next door to the Tropicana and opposite MGM Grand with its monorail to Ballys. Excalibur, NYNY and Luxor are all very close making it a very good location indeed.  
     
Theme It does not really have one, maybe an old western gambling hall with terrible flowers painted on the walls and big candelabras but that's it.  
     
Attractions It has a video arcade and that’s your lot! San Remo is a small older casino and has not really tried to attract people by non gaming gimmicks.  
     
Shopping Poor, a "fine" leather shop, a hotel gift shop cum news agent/liquor store and that’s it.  
     
Dining The San Remo Buffet (B: $6.95, L: $6.95, D: $7.95, Weekend brunch $6.95) is a small buffet with a limited choice and mediocre food. The Restaurant del Fiori is a 24hr coffee shop that usually offers a steak or prime rib special. This place is brilliant, giving some of the best value on the Strip, eat from the menu rather than the buffet. There are also Japanese, Italian and Steak and Seafood restaurants here.  
     
Gaming Incey wincey by Vegas standards at 7889 sq ft filled with about 30 tables and 600 machines. The table minimums are low, usually $3 and loads of slots in the nickel league. The casino is almost always quiet but the low ceiling keeps the smoke in and this prevents the levels of tranquillity from hitting the sleep level.  
     
Drinks Service Jackpot time, because the place is usually quiet you get served quickly and frequently and because it’s small you get your order pretty quick too. However because the place is small the waitresses remember if you don't tip and you will not get a second drink!! All through the evening they circulate champagne through the slot areas, this is the only casino I have ever seen this.  
     
Best Thing Free drinks and loads of them.  
     
Worst Thing Smoky atmosphere in the casino.  
     
Overall Budget casino in great location that offers pretty close to full service. San Remo knows that it is not in the same league as the big boys but by giving exceptional value in a good location, together with loads of free alcohol it can get by well enough.
